I AM a movement and mindfulness teacher, with a degree in Kinesiology and additional studies in traumatic brain injury, nervous system and yoga nidra. I AM a 500 E-RYT and a Yoga Medicine Registered Therapeutic Specialist. My husband and I recently started the Stronger Shield Project, a yoga and meditation curriculum to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of first responders.
I started yoga almost twenty years ago as a part of my fitness regimen. I gravitated towards Bikram for a number of years. Finally, in 2009, I made yoga a permanent part of my life, adding in ayurvedic living, meditation and daily practice. I even incorporated it in training my triathletes for my coaching business.
Eventually, it blossomed into a passion for teaching. We moved to Georgia and open Ebb & Flow Yoga Surf Studio, which we continue to operate today.
I have a short frame with a muscular build. In fact, I was told that I was too muscular to do yoga by my first yoga teacher. Luckily, the force was strong and I kept going back to prove my worthiness.
Years later, I want to inspire people to live strong and healthy lives and embrace their bodies whatever they may be. I do not believe in diets. In fact, I don’t do it at all. Body shaming has no place in yoga and diets have no place in living a full and exciting life.

I graduated from the University of Maryland with a self-created degree in Kinesiology, Business, Journalism and Leadership. I am or have been certified as a USA Triathlon Level I Coach, US Swim Coach, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, ACE Personal Trainer, Thai Massage Therapist and 200 E-RYT. I am currently working on my 500 RYT through Tiffany Cruikshank’s Yoga Medicine.
I am a mama to three little birds . When I am not teaching, you will find me yelling at lacrosse games and swim meets, taxi driving my kids and friends in my swagger wagon, doing speed work around the track or dancing my butt off.
